Bio

I am a contemporary painter based in DFW, Texas, currently pursuing my BFA in Drawing and Painting at the University of North Texas in Denton. Growing up in a modest household, I developed an appreciation for small comforts, familiar environments, and the lasting importance of personal relationships. Rather than being drawn to extraordinary experiences, I am interested in the everyday moments that accumulate over time and become meaningful to me through memory and attachment.

My work often reflects the perspective of an observer. I gravitate toward mundane scenes, familiar objects, pets, places, and moments shared with friends, approaching them without idealizing their subjects or compositions. The smallest things can all become subjects worthy of attention. Humor and self-deprecation frequently accompany this process, allowing otherwise ordinary experiences to become personal records of a particular time in my life and generation.

As a relatively reserved person, I value the few relationships and experiences that have remained constant throughout my life. My work consequently reflects an interest in personal attachment, shared nostalgia, minor frustrations, and the quiet humor of everyday life. I view art not only as a way to preserve significant memories, but also as a way to recognize value in moments that might otherwise be forgotten. Through this approach, my practice embraces the idea that an experience does not have to be extraordinary to be worth remembering.
